ALOHA, Ore. – Witnesses say an argument broke out Tuesday night between two men that ended up with one of them shot. That person died, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
The incident happened in the roadway near the 18000 block of Southwest Rosa Road shortly before 8 p.m.
According to Sgt. Bob Ray with the sheriff’s office, investigators don't believe the two men knew each other.
He said the shooter is being questioned and police aren't looking for any other suspects.
According to Ray, the men were arguing out on the street when one man, age 41, pulled out a gun and shot the other man. The victim is 24 years old, Ray said.
The police investigation is continuing as they try to piece together what happened.
Pat Boyd said she and her son came home Tuesday night to find police tape, flashing lights and a man dead near her driveway.
"He said to me, 'mom, I think that's a body,' and I said no way," Boyd said. "Somebody said maybe there was an altercation between them. You don't go around shooting people on the street just because you have a disagreement with them."
