Arrest made after shots are fired at a house in the Cully neighborhood

PORTLAND, Ore. - A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting in the Cully neighborhood Saturday night.
Christopher Eugene Miller is facing charges of attempted murder, unlawful use of a weapon, attempt to elude by a vehicle, attempt to elude on foot, reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Miller is accused of firing a gun at a house in the 4600 block of Northeast Killingsworth Street around 9 p.m. Saturday.
No one was hit by the bullets but police did arrest Miller, who was the driver of a white sedan seen leaving the area. He sped away after the shooting and ended up crashing into a parked car. Police say he then tried to run on foot but officers were able to stop him.
Two passengers that were in the car were detained but later released pending further investigation.
Miller is scheduled to be arraigned in court on Monday.
Maybe some leaders from the African American community could speak up and address the problems before many of their precious youth are incarcerated. You always hear Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson after violence is perpetuated against an African American, but I have never heard them address the problems plaguing their communities. (just a thought) Maybe the local churches can try harder to reach their youth before they run a muck like this. Too many African Americans preying on one another and their communities through violence: robbery, gang activity, drugs, murder of their own race etc. I realize all colors of the rainbow are subject to commit crimes but, I also know all to well the statistics involved in incarceration of African Americans.
@Funky-Munky It will never happen unless a cop shoots one of these folks or a person of a lighter skin color shoots one. The black community does not seem to give a hoot if they shoot each other, you got to love diversity!!!
Miller is accused of firing a gun at a house. That would be attempted Home-i-cide, wouldn't it?

And, where is Jessie Jackson and why hasn't he waded in on this case?
@I812 .......the racist reverend?... Never happen !

Bad boy Bad boy what ya gona do,,,sit your punk arse in prison,,,,
The mug shot is not surprising.
The more the are is gentrified, the more these people will get pushed out so it's the suburbs problem. Good riddance! COME ON GENTRIFICATION!
It was a nice area 50 years ago before they came in and homied it.  Gentrification restores the original order.
@poopstainmonkey Yeah this has been going on for the 50 years I have lived here. They are a few of these losers out in the burbs, but for the most part they stay in Portland, they seem to fit in better with you city folks :)
I don't understand...he looks like a fine, upstanding citizen.
@Tom dogboy Collins I agree. This is shocking!
Why are the two others released when they should be charged with aiding and abetting (accessory)?
@swimbad Because our jails are too full of folks help on non-violent marijuana infractions to also handle the violent offenders. Â
@SerenityWow I hear you, but driving around in a car with someone shooting a gun is pretty violent. I remember way back when, when if you were with someone robbing a bank, you would be charged the with the same charges. Your sentence would maybe be lighter, but you were still going to get the charges against you.
@SerenityWow The problem is the officials are afraid of being called racist. It's easy to put a bunch of white dope smokers, growers and peddlers in jail. There's no Jessee Jackson to call "racism". They don't dare fill the jails with gang bangers. That would be racist.
This isnt news anymore. ITs almost a daily occurance. Good job ALbina Mimistries
