Artists build a wall of Jell-O at the Seattle Center

SEATTLE (AP) — A wall of Jell-O is slowly growing and collapsing — at the same time — at the Seattle Center.
The jiggly wall about 5 feet high and 12 feet long is the work of artists commissioned for a three-week evolving exhibit to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1962 Seattle World's Fair.
The Seattle Times reports artists Lisa Hein and Robert Seng will be adding rows of loaf-size Jell-O bricks through the Sept. 8 Seattle Center Big Birthday Bash.
The artists cook up the gelatin on a hot plate and cool it in molds in a refrigerator on the site.
Blueberry, raspberry, orange, cherry and blackberry bricks are held in place by a gypsum mortar that supports the wall as the Jell-O on the bottom melts.

I saw this being made at Bumbershoot festival this weekend. The jell-o on the bottom was all moldy and there were flies. It was pretty gross.
Every year, 15 million children die of hunger.

Meanwhile, in the U.S., our Jell-O wall is getting taller and the world's biggest cheeseburger was just finished.
So I suppose it would survive an earthquake just fine! Or we can see the headline "brick wall collapses on people, nobody hurt" â I just love creative individuals like this! Very cool.
One man's art is another mans complete waste of time/money.......
Jello shots would have been better
This is very stupid.
@Gymbo I don't care if it's stupid; I just hope taxpayer money wasn't used to fund this.
@Gymbo Well it's entertaining creative and original, and it doesn't hurt anybody, so why does it matter how "stupid" it may or may not be? I've seen lots of art which I think is stupid, but others like it.  Just like people who choose to live the naturist lifestyle, I figure â to each their own!
Wow, and I missed the opportunity to have a brick with my name on it! Shucky-darn!
Mighty squiggly story for a slow news day. Couldn't ya just say the tide came in and went out? Just in, hot flash, the sun came out today and crossed the sky. wow.sloooooooooooooow news day?

masonry aint what it used to be
@Phuzz I'm sure there are some secret society codes in the Jell-o somewhere. Dan Brown will write a book about it.
Approved.

Why?
@ohmylanta Sometimes ya just gotta think - how can I enjoy wasting my time this week? This is apparently their answer to that question.
@OSUx2 Well, you could count how many horses hooves it took to make that much Jell-o. Maybe you could get a grant to pay for your research.......
Does he have a wall of blue gummie bears as well?

No wonder it tastes like crud.
@Kushfan propbably tastes like Nixon era Cheddar
@beernpizza  @Kushfan Nixon era bricks were actually 2.5 kilos and I only remember the red ones.
Our group is going to like you, swimbad
@Kushfan And you were hoping that the jell-o was used for other purposes?????
Coulda been used to feed the hungry folks that are jello-deprived!
Each brick is numbered and categorized by the Gooey Decimal System...
