NEAR ESTACADA, Ore. - Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputies are looking for a suspect they said tangled with a homeowner before fleeing the home.
Deputies said they responded to a 9-1-1 "hang up" call at about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday and went to a rural home on South Moehnke Court near Estacada.
Deputies said the 63-year-old homeowner was in the house when a man entered through an open door. The man and intruder got into a fight and the homeowner shouted to his wife to get his gun.
When she returned with the firearm, the intruder punched the woman and then ran off, deputies said. They said the homeowner heard a car leaving the area.
A canine team searched the area but didn't find the suspect. Deputies did not say if the woman was injured.
The suspect is described as a white male, 6 feet tall with a "stout build" and wearing a black hoodie pulled tight over his face.
Again with the dark colored Hoodie. I tell you those things have evil mind control...
Glad they are okay! Â Hope the intruder didn't make off with the gun!
She should have shot him because the bad man could have taken the gun and killed them both, they are lucky....if you need to get a gun out for something like this , USE IT !!
I'm glad that the homeowners weren't injured, but I am certainly sad to see that the intruder wasn't shot and killed.
Perhaps answer the door with the weapon on you when someone knocks on your door late at night?
@jpk The article says the intruder came in through an open door, I don't think he knocked & was let in.
I don't remember reading that in the original story. Hoewever, an open door policy could be considered the inchoate crime of solicitation (to commit burglary)? LOL
Sounds kinda like that womans story about the fake carjacking ?????
Â
Later story...."woman called 911 after husband punched her in face, then when officers arrived they had changed story" ?????
