Body found floating in Willamette River near Bryant Park

ALBANY, Ore. -- A family spotted the body of a man floating face-down in the Willamette River near Bryant Park on Sunday.

According to Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley, the family called authorities around 3 p.m. Deputies arrived and recovered the body from the river just west of the park.

According to deputies, the man was a little more than six feet tall and had a beard and short graying hair. He had already been in the river a while. Deputies described his body as being in a “moderate” state of decomposition.

As of late Sunday, investigators had not been able to determine a cause of death or identify the body. They hope members of the public may be able to provide more clues.
