'Boil water' advisory in effect near Hood River after positive E. coli test

HOOD RIVER, Ore. – A boil water advisory is in effect for Hood River-area residents after water tests found E. coli bacteria in the drinking water.
Customers of the Oak Grove Water Company should boil all water for at least one minute to kill the bacteria that could be present.
Tap water samples taken Sunday, Nov. 26 contained E. coli bacteria.
Residents should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth, washing dishes or making ice.
Any ice or beverages made with tap water after Nov. 26 should be thrown out, environmental health officials said.
E. coli symptoms include diarrhea, cramps, nausea and headaches. Health officials said they may pose special risks for people with weakened immune systems. Anyone who experiences these symptoms should see a doctor.
Residents should continue to boil water until further notice.

Heck, I get that listening to Sam Adams.
@Mikey Then, quite possibly you need a psychiatrist !
The City of Hood River's water system is not affected. Â http://ci.hood-river.or.us/ Â KATU needs to check the facts!
The evidence mounts for water terrorism and the "North American slow kill" agenda..
Great news, but a bit late. Today is the 28th; if the toxin was found on the 26th, what happens to those who drank it between then and now?
@jpk The samples were taken on the 26th...it takes 48 hrs for the test results...so the "toxin" wasn't "found" until today...I meant to say no big cover up to report...samples are taken in all water systems on a regular basis
That's 3 in less than a month isn't it? Portland, Tigard, now this? What the heck?
As to the "delay" it typically takes 48 hrs for teh lab to return test results on samples...so big "cover up" to report.
@ezdzit 48 hours of the trots is not fun no matter the cause of the delay. Trust me, after just a few hours I'd already have made promises to God that even a Franciscan monk wouldn't be able to keep.
This is NOT the City of Hood River water system! It involves a totally different water system. No residents that are served by the City of Hood River need to have any concerns about their water. C'mon KATU...get it right!
I know that if I had the trots for two days I would not be happy with the delay in discovering the issue.
Hood River doesn't chemically kill their residents with over-treated water... and it's NOT all residents, just those in a small area on the west side of the valley. KATU once again needs to get their story straight.
great time to experiement with how much tea or coffee it takes it OD on.
are treatment plants having a hard time paying for chemicals needed to treat water?
Probably due to staff cuts with budget issues!
