UPDATE: Portland police say the 15-year-old boy with Asperger's has been found safe and is back with his family.

Police say “W” Mooney wandered to a home and asked the residents there to call police.

A 15-year-old boy with Asperger’s syndrome is missing after he ran off from his family in Tryon Creek State Park on Saturday morning, Portland police said.

“W” Mooney was hiking with his family in the park when he told them he’d meet them later. That was sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., but he has not yet returned. His family is concerned about his welfare.

Police say he is not familiar with the park.

Mooney is white, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds. He has brown hair. He was wearing a green shirt and black shorts.

Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911.
