Broken water main causes Highway 30 delays

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Drivers should expect delays on west Highway 30 on Wednesday afternoon, as crews make emergency repairs to a leaked water main.

Two lanes of the highway just east of Northwest Kittridge Avenue are expected to be closed through the afternoon commute, according to Oregon Department of Transportation.

Some westbound drivers were getting through on a median; nonetheless, ODOT officials say drivers should expect significant delays and take an alternate route.

It wasn't clear when the repairs to the water main would wrap up.
