Bullet rips through home: 'It could have killed somebody'

MOLALLA, Ore. – Jessica and Jennifer Bush returned to a shocking discovery at their Molalla home on Sunday.
“Realized there was a bullet hole straight through that wall,” said Jessica.
A bullet shattered the glass in their front door, went through a wall and lodged itself in their freezer.
“It’s a good probably two inches,” she said.
It happened during the five hours the two women were out on Sunday. No one was home at the time.
During her interview with KATU News, Jessica grabbed a knife and dug the bullet out of the freezer.
“It’s heavy,” she said. “A lot heavier than I thought it would be.”
Without the freezer, the bullet would have gone through another wall and hit their grandmother's dishes.
Jessica said a Clackamas County sheriff’s deputy came to their home to investigate. She plans to give him the bullet.
The women have insurance, but said they need to get a new refrigerator and custom door.
They are still wondering who did this, and why. They’re hoping it was a neighbor messing around, and someone will come forward to admit they fired the shot.
“We’re realizing where it would hit and if it went through the door and a wall and into the refrigerator freezer, it could have killed somebody,” said Jessica.
The media headlines to capture the drama of something that could have happened. A bullet rips through home "it could have killed somebody". Really? But it didn't happen, so lets write the story on the premise of fictional facts.
Â
Of course for someone to do this is completely irresponsible and a certainly a poor gun owner.Â
 @Quaoptician Ya but facts don't sell so they try and glorify it. Just like the San Antonio off-duty officer that stopped a mass shooting a few weeks back using her CHL weapon. It didn't make anything but the local newspapers because they had no way to spin it that was anti gun or gory since only one person besides the crazy person died.
Â
Just like Hollywood media will whore itself out to make money.
Â
The biggest example of this hypocrisy this week is the anti-gun video by all the stars that make a fortune using violence with guns in their movies (Like Jamie Foxx) for example.
I agree wholeheartedly with the comments about not tampering with evidence. The women should have called LE first and let the "C.S.I." unit do their job.
Most of the comments are right on. Don't tamper with evidence. If they find the shooter the bullet can be easily tossed out at evidence.
Â
I am not sure what to think if this. Calling the news first and then the police. Something is not lining up here.
@RalphCramden --- Something's rotten in Denmark.
 @The Resistance  @RalphCramden ~ Yeah, something does seem to be out of whack here, doesn't it..?
But but but...I had MY FACE on TV :)
 @tptpttpÂ
Yes, and methinks that this is what it is all about.
"Jessica said a Clackamas County sheriffâs deputy came to their home to investigate. She plans to give him the bullet."Â Why didn't he take it when he was there the first time?
Ok one should not tamper with evidence.
 @lee986321Â
Exactly. Now she had damaged the evidence and any conviction could be hard to obtain.
 @RalphCramden  @lee986321 ~  The things people do sometimes..!  Seems like anybody who even just watches TV once in a while (cop shows, Law & Order, etc) would know better than that... guess not, though...Â
...sigh...
 @lee986321 You never cease to amaze.
"During her interview with KATU News, Jessica grabbed a knife and dug the bullet out of the freezer."
Â
Excellent plan. Â Maybe she should replace the window before the police arrive as well and patch up the fridge.
Â
Â
 @negativerep  "The women have insurance, but said they need to get a new refrigerator and custom door." Following their established procedure, they should visit an appliance store and a home improvement store before calling their insurance agent.
 @HenryBowman  @negativerep I am betting the only reason police were involved as it was required to file a police report for the insurance money.
Â
Don't want to give the idiots any ideas though about shooting their own appliances to get paid for by insurance:)
Captain obvious: 'It could have killed somebody'
HAHA!! Always call the news channel BEFORE having the police come over!
 @randola interesting, isn't it?
Probably an idiot shooting his gun in the general direction not thinking about the "what goes up must come down" part.

 @Dr. Rawdog They rarely do without someone loading them into a gun and pulling the trigger.

 @Jeepers You don't recognize sarcasm?
It's more a common sense lesson..........
When things like this happen, call the LE first, and let them investigate the crime scene. Any tampering of evidence puts the case in jeopardy.
What case? There is no case now, at least; However, I have MY FACE on TV.
