PORTLAND, Ore -- A wayward cat named George traveled more than 12 miles through Portland to find his family.

When Amy Campion's family moved across town in Portland from St. Johns to Parkrose Heights, one of their cats, George, was extremely unhappy and ran away.

The Campion family searched for days. They asked neighbors if they had seen the 2-year-old orange tabby cat.

George was recently spotted at the family's old house more than 12 miles away from their new home.

"It made me feel pretty happy," said Celeste Martin, the family's former neighbor. She joked the cat was better suited for the St. Johns neighborhood.

"St. Johns has a lot of pride. So of course he came back here. It's where he should live anyway," said Martin.
