PORTLAND, Ore. – A police chase Tuesday morning started in a 1993 SUV and ended in a bathroom.

Portland police said a driver took off in his SUV after they tried to stop it near N.E. 102nd and Weidler St., heading north on 102nd.

Police said they chased it until it got stuck on the railroad tracks at 102nd and Killingsworth, and both people inside the SUV bolted.

They said they caught up to 30-year-old Ruby Johnson nearby, but the man with her kept running.

Finally, police say the tracked down 23-year-old Tyler Woods inside a bathroom at the Owens Illinois Glass Plant, breaking down the door with a battering ram to get him out.

Police charged Woods with first-degree criminal mischief, interfering with a peace officer and first- and second-degree criminal trespass.

Johnson had an outstanding warrant for possession of methamphetamine.

Both were booked into Multnomah County Jail.
