GLADSTONE, Ore. -- Students at Gladstone High School are using Twitter to make their school a better place.
Using the Twitter handle @GHSCompliments0, students are posting nice things about teachers, school staff members and each other.
"The janitor Marcus is such a cool guy," one post says.
"Exchange student Marie is so sweet!" said another.
The junior behind the Twitter account says he wants to remain anonymous.
"I just wanted to bring some positivity to Gladstone. I didn't expect it to be such a success, but the genuine goodness I've seen in people is just remarkable" @GHSCompliments0 said via Twitter message.
The account has been active for a few weeks and has about 170 followers.
It comes on the heals of reports of cyberbullying and a Twitter account in Washington state where students post negative and sexual things about each other.
Students at Gladstone High School say they hope the Twitter account catches on and inspires students at other schools.
"It's a great thing that has happened and united us more," said student A.J. Swalko.
