WILSONVILLE, Ore. – A fatal crash involving two semi trucks and a car blocked southbound lanes of Interstate 5 six miles south of Wilsonville Monday evening.

State police said 26-year-old Dustin Paul Campbell of Lyons was driving his Acura Integra when a semi truck pulling a trailer hit the car from behind and drove over it. The truck then rear-ended another semi trailer.

Campbell died at the scene. The Acura was crushed and pinned underneath the semi truck. A tow truck had to move the Acura off the freeway before firefighters could remove Campbell.

The truck driver, Gurpinder Singh of Red Bluff, Calif., was taken to the hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

The crash occurred around 5 p.m. just north of the Donald/Aurora Interchange in Marion County.

Three southbound lanes were closed for four hours and traffic was backed up for several miles. Traffic used the shoulder of the road to get by the crash.

It's unclear what caused the crash.

Police are asking any witnesses to the crash who have not already given statements to them to call OSP Northern Command Center at 800-452-7888.
