Crash on Highway 217 sparks two-car fire

TIGARD, Ore. – Firefighters put out a two-car fire Saturday after a crash on Highway 217.
Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue crews arrived at the scene near Highway 99W at around 11:30 a.m. to find two cars on fire. One of the cars was rolling backwards on the highway, firefighters said.
No one was hurt in the crash. Firefighters said everyone who was in the cars during the crash was safely out when they arrived.
Firefighters said the second car in the rear-end crash ignited and flames spread to the lead car.

Caught by that. Took half an hour to go a quarter of a mile to the off ramp. What a pain.
Sure have been a rash of fires in northwestern Oregon recently. Vehicle fires are especially scary. Glad everyone got out before the cars burned.Â
