Deputies: Driver causes three hit-and-run crashes
MILWAUKIE, Ore. - Law enforcement officials said one man was behind a series of hit-and-run crashes in the Milwaukie area Thursday morning that ended with the suspect vehicle nearly crashing into a home.
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said there were three hit-and-run incidents associated with the same suspect, identified as 33-year-old Bayron Rene Estrada Aldana.
Just after 11 a.m., deputies said a pickup truck was involved in a hit-and-run crash on the offramp to Sunnyside Road from Interstate 205 southbound in Clackamas County.
Aldana hit two vehicles on the onramp and then drove off, leaving two people injured, deputies said. The conditions of those injured has not been released.
However, following the first crash, deputies said Aldana was pursued by a private citizen who gave them updates with the truck's location and direction. Deputies said Aldana "was reportedly running red lights and speeding."
Aldana, driving a white Ford pickup, then crashed into a vehicle near the intersection of SE Harmony and Linwood Avenue, deputies said. One person was hurt in that crash and taken to a hospital. The condition of that injured person has not been released.
The string of incidents ended with the truck crashing through a fence and into the yard of a home located on SE Linwood and SE Queen Road.
Aldana, dressed all in black and carrying a backpack, fled the scene on foot as deputies arrived and was running through backyards, the sheriffs office said in a press release.
Local residents pointed deputies in the direction Aldana was going and he was taken into custody near SE King Road near SE Linwood Road just after 11 a.m., deputies said.
Deputies said Aldana was not hurt and they "have evidence to believe he was under the influence at the time of the incident."
He was taken to the Clackamas County Jail on charges of hit-and-run, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, and DUII.

Um...no. The driver might have been involved in, or performed three hit-and-run crashes, but he couldn't have "caused" three hit-and-run crashes, because "caused" would indicate that the crashes were a result of his actions, but not actually performed by him.
 @Mikey I really like your logic, but after working Traffic Homicide for too many years once the skel begins his/her actions any resulting crash's is the responsibility of 'Vehicle One.' Â

The illegals don't have insurance, can't really get a license, nor do they pay taxes, that's why they are so inclined to commit multiple crimes, 'cause they are already committing one, and once a person feels they are a criminal, they stop caring about society's norms anymore.

It's time we have more "Vehicle" control in this country. Too many accidents and deaths on a daily basis to ignore this any longer.Â
Maybe Ginny Berddick should make a law prohibiting vehicles that can travel over 10 mph. That would keep this sort of thing from happening!

Certainly can't cure stupid. I say let him be the "target" for training new policy K9's, let him do that at minimum wage until he's paid restitution.
The problem with people like this is the only way society will get any payment is to keep him under lock and key. He obviously does not care and will not pay restitution even if he had the means. Seen it too many times. We really need to bring back chain gangs to make these people repay - with thier sweat and blood what they owe to thier victims - and society -if they are unwilling to repay.

That dude just brought himself a whole lot of trouble. Â He was driving while suspended/revoked (the charges include that, but the story above does not). Â To start with, 187k bail. Hopefully, he'll stay in custody for him to realize he shouldn't screw up again... but I'm not going to count on it.
The uncaritable part of me kind of hopes this creep would meet with some terrible accident in an escape attempt.
The Butthead almost hit me and my 18-month daughter when he came racing down Fuller to head east on Harmony. He obviously ran a red since my light was green! I honked but it didn't matter to him. I noticed the front driver side of his truck was smashed in so I figured he'd previously ran into something. A few minutes later I heard sirens. Glad he was caught but sorry people were hurt.

Hope everyone is okay. Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely that they'll ever see a dime to help with either medical or property damages from such an upstanding young man.Â
What a stupid and senseless act. I hope the driver that was hurt by this moron will be okay. Thank goodness the child was not hurt. This guy obviously has a host of problems that I suspect this is only scratching the surface.

Headline is confusing and misleading. Sounds like it should be "Driver Commits three hit-and-run crashes," not "Driver causes three hit-and-run crashes."
When I saw the headline I thought, "how can someone cause another to hit-and-run?"
Unfortunately, taking away this bozo's licence, who likes to play bumper cars, will not do much good. If he's willing to hit and run repeatedly he will not have a problem driving while suspended/revoked. No offence to clowns everywhere.
