BEAVERCREEK, Ore. – Sheriff’s deputies said a drunk driver crashed into a power pole in Beavercreek, knocking out power to thousands of homes in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Deputies responded to the crash around 3:20 a.m. on Beavercreek Road near Dans Avenue, according to Lt. Robert Wurpes with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found Kyle Rosenlof, 23, inside the car. He was not hurt.

The crash snapped the pole and dropped power lines across the road, Wurpes said.

Deputies said Rosenlof appeared to be impaired after the crash. They arrested Rosenlof and took him to the Clackamas County Jail on a DUII charge.

The power is nearly restored to all Beavercreek homes. Portland General Electric said on its website that the power should be completely restored by 11:30 a.m.
