Deputies: Masked robber attacks woman with piece of cement
DONALD, Ore. – Marion County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a masked man who they said beat a woman with a piece of cement and stole her purse in Donald early Wednesday morning.
27-year-old Misty Walter was walking to a friend’s house on Donald Road NE at around 6:20 a.m. when a man on a bicycle rode past her, sheriff’s office spokesman Don Thomson said. After passing her, the man turned around and started attacking her.
Walter told deputies the masked man grabbed a nearby piece of cement and hit her on the head. He then stole her purse and cell phone. She ran away to a nearby house and called 911.
Medics took Walter to a Tualatin hospital. She had a scrape on her head and cuts on her hands, Thomson said.
Deputies describe the male suspect as 5’8’’ tall and 170 pounds. He was wearing a black, pulled down beanie mask with cutouts for his mouth and eyes. He was also wearing a camo hunting jacket with a hood and steel-toed dark-colored boots.
Walter said the man had a raspy “smoker’s voice.” He was riding a silver BMX bicycle.

She had probably just left a mc Donalds. The bike was probably stolen too. Pretty good description of this suspect. Hummm....

He shouldn't be too hard to find -- he rides around Donald on a bicycle in the early morning hours, wearing a full-face ski mask. Â Even without the mask, are there that many guys who ride around Donald on a bike? Â Anyone ever been to Donald?

@Funky-Munky @margay1 I ran over a yellow-bellied sidewinder (or some kind of sidewinder) outside Phoenix once.  Dang thing wouldn't die, I had to go back 3 times and re-run him -- he slithered off into the desert.
@eeyore46 @Funky-Munky He kept slithering like nothing had happened to him.  I'd just gotten new tires and I was ticked off at the tires for not doing their job.  Gotta admit, it was kinda cool to watch him...only one I'd ever seen in the 'wild'.  One thing for sure:  If you don't like snakes (or some pretty creepy LARGE spiders), don't live in Arizona.

It's a Concealed Handgun License. Suppose you don't believe in guns and you want to carry a knife or something similar instead. If it might be considered a weapon, such as my old Marine Corps Ka-Bar knife or brass knuckles or an old blackjack, you can't legally carry it. If you want to carry concealed in Oregon, it HAS to be a handgun.

Well, YES; if I honestly believe that it's my life, or that of a loved one, that's being threatened, then I absolutely think it's "worth the risk"..! If the attacker ends up dead in the process, well... HE started it; not me...Â

Not saying if she would have ended his life over it i'd of lost any sleep, i just dont' think guns solve cancer like the rest of you do. Guns are meant to do one thing and one thing only...harm. Point an empty barrel and you instill fear (harm), shoot that person (harm), and being killed by one of those thing even if he deserved it makes the mother who tried to raise a son the best way she could cry (harm). Can guns be used for a good purpose, yes! They can be used like any other object, i just don't think the vast majority of people are mature, emotionally stable, or prepared for the consequences of their actions regarding these tools. That's all.Â

Just explain how assault style ( semi-automatic weapons ) are so high on the list of weapons to be banned when there are other weapons more commonly used to kill, it's called fear mongering. If you going to ban something, doesn't it make sense to focus on item most commonly used............ oh, but Assault Rifles ( semi auto ) sounds so bad, forget about the weapons that actually do the damage.

What I'm concerned with, is how this could (and will) be abused. I find it somewhat ridiculous a grandfather wishing to hand down his shotgun to his grandson, would be forced to have his grandson undergo a background check.

 @STEELHEAD Do you really want to highlight that handguns are the ones most commonly used to commit crimes?  I know the difference between an actual "assault" gun and a rifle with stuff/junk added to it.  I'm in no way a supporter of banning any guns that aren't already banned.  All I and apparently 80% of Americans want is universal background checks -- with stiff penalties for any seller who doesn't conduct one as well as anyone found to possess a gun without having been checked.  Do you have a problem with that?
