ALOHA, Ore. -- Deputies are investigating a series of smash-and-grab burglaries that occurred Thursday morning at some Aloha businesses.

The first burglary was reported 5:25 a.m. at Clarke's Discount Inc., 19530 S.W. Shaw St. Deputies discovered that the thief had gained entry by smashing the front glass door, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Then, about 20 minutes later, deputies were called to another business burglary alarm at Indoor Hydroponic Garden and Lights at 5990 S.W. 185th Ave. Suite F. The front glass door was shattered and items were in disarray, deputies said.

Deputies later discovered a thief had tried to break in to La Morenita Market, which is in the same business complex as Indoor Hydroponics.

Finally, at 5:54 a.m., a sheriff's deputy came across a large industrial garage door at 19040 S.W. Shaw St. that had been smashed in, allowing entry to the auto parts distributor Factory Motor Parts. The cash drawer area had been ransacked, deputies said.
