Deputies say woman broke into house while owner was home

ALOHA, Ore. – A woman was arrested Sunday after breaking into a house in Aloha while the owner was home, Washington County sheriff’s deputies said.

Beaverton’s Shaunte Comfort, 35, was charged with first-degree burglary, escape, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.

A homeowner called 911 just after 5 a.m. Sunday morning to report she’d seen a woman breaking into her house through the rear window.

Deputies had the owner leave the house, then converged on it. As they were coming in, they saw the woman run out the back door.

Deputies said they had to fight to arrest Comfort, and that at one point after she was handcuffed she broke away and began fighting again.

Deputies said there was several hundred dollars in damage to the house’s door and window.
