BAKER CITY, Ore. -- Oregon State Police say a woman's cellphone use behind the wheel led to her crashing on Interstate 84.
Troopers say 21-year-old Madison Moore of Sherwood was heading west on the freeway on Wednesday. She was using her cellphone while trying to make it through a right curve when her truck drifted to left and hit the concrete barrier twice, coming to rest on its wheels.
Firefighters had to pull her from the wreckage and take her to the hospital. Her injuries were not serious. Her passenger, Don Hyrum, was able to climb out of the truck on his own and suffered minor injuries.
The canopy on the truck was seriously damaged and everything inside was strewn across the freeway.
Troopers cited Moore for unlawful use of a mobile communication device.
