Dog ends up stuck on island in the Clackamas River

OREGON CITY, Ore. - Rescuers came to the aid of a dog that was stranded on an island in the Clackamas River.
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office got a call about the dog around 10:30 a.m. Monday. The dog was stuck on an island near the 17400 block of South Palmer Road in Oregon City.
Rescuers from Clackamas Fire District #1 gathered up their gear and headed to the location.
The dog, a 30-pound male Chow mix, initially struggled against his rescuers and swam across the river. The rescue crew was able to reach the dog and once he was inside the sheriff's boat, he calmed down.
The dog did not have a collar or a name tag and was handed over to Clackamas County Dog Services.
If you or someone you know who owns the dog, call Clackamas County Dog Control at (503) 722-6519.
Any more news on this story?
I also like animal stories, and if no one claims her, then I might be interested in adopting her. My dog Mocha looks just like her. Great great member of the family.
Okay, I like the animal stories, so deal with it. K2, any updates on this poor dog?
Chow Chow's aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, but they're good, fun pets. I hope this one makes it home OK...wherever that might be, and that it's owner takes really good care of it. There are a couple that come to the local dog park and they're always a blast.
@Mikey Perpahs you should educate yourself on the Chow Chow breed pal???
Â
@Mikey It's clear that you know very little about chows.  Fun pet?? not the sharpest tool?  Chows are quantifyably still natural dogs in a natural state. There were never bred to work with man, so no, they don't jump through hoops, or roll over for "master".
Â
Thank you rescuers for saving this dog! Â Hopefully the owner will be more responsible with their chow, in the future.
Thank you rescuers to saving that poor, cold & scared dog! Â She looks so exhausted. Â Great pictures!
Thank you to the rescuers, Hopefully, this dog is owned and loved and has a chip to identify it. It's easy to lose a collar...let's hope somebody didn't just conveniently lose the dog..
Ah yes! The daily pet story. Doesn't anything else ever happen in the world that is newsworthy?Â
@jpk You may want to check out Huffington Post or other media sites not  considered "main-stream"???
Â
 @jpk 'unlike' your attitude.
@jpk Yea, depends on whether you read the local news mediums or dare to venture to Pravda, Canadian Free Press, Drudge, BBC, Mail Online, et al. Quit being a dick, OK??
