BEAVERTON, Ore. -- A driver crashed into two trees, two parked cars and two pedestrians Monday afternoon in the parking lot of a New Seasons in the Cedar Hills area, police said.

Police said the 66-year-old driver, Steven Brown of Portland, was driving his Chevrolet HHR through the parking lot when his plastic walking cast became stuck on the accelerator.

That's when he plowed into the trees and vehicles and hit a 64-year-old man and a 34-year-old man.

The 64-year-old suffered minor injuries and the 34-year-old was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment, said Beaverton Police Officer Mike Rowe. The 34-year-old is expected to live.

Neither pedestrian has been identified.
