Driver rescued from Jeep after crash near Forest Grove

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Firefighters rescued a driver whose Jeep crashed south of Forest Grove and ended up leaning vertically against a power pole early Monday morning.
It happened on SW Old Highway 47 near SW Etters Road at around 1:20 a.m., firefighters said.
Crews pulled the unidentified driver from the Jeep. The driver was taken to the trauma center at OHSU in Portland with serious injuries.
It's unclear what caused the crash.
I know that jeeps are by far the best for 4-wheeling, but dude, really, they still can't drive straight up a pole
You don't want to identify the driver? OK! But why identify the vehicle then? It might also have relatives with feelings. LOL

Uh, failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle, maybe?
Well, I was always told by the guys with the 4X4's that, with the knobby mudder tires and beefed up engines and a granny low gear, their trucks could almost climb trees . . . . although no one expected them to attempt to *prove* it!
@Gravity Works! That guy's got stock tires, no lift, probably the factory differential. The Force is either strong with this one, or he went end-over-end. Which, some argue, only means you're doing it wrong if you get hurt.
Good luck, man. I've done some CRAZY stuff in my jeep but I don't know how in hell you get it to do THAT.
Can't imaging being hung up on a pole like that. Good grief!

Hopefully the driver can pull through ok. That's pretty scary.Â
I'll bet it was black ice. I was in that area around midnight and the parking lot in Forest Grove was like an ice rink.
Some people just can't drive in weather like this. Just got home from Safeway in the snow and spotted several macho guys wearing flip flops, shorts and t-shirts. Those must be their year-round clothes!

I've noticed that most people who dress like that in cold weather are just trying to show off their tattoos.
