Drunk driver hits unoccupied cop car as officer watches

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A Portland police car was hit Saturday night as the driver of a stolen car tried to flee southeast Portland.
    
The Oregonian reports the driver backed into a patrol car, then hit another vehicle and was trying to drive over the curb when it got stuck. Police say he then ran away.
    
Police searched the area and found the man, who was hiding on the roof of a nearby apartment complex.
    
Portland Police say 23-year-old Scott Thomas Petersen was arrested on multiple charges, including outstanding warrants, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, reckless driving and reckless endangerment.
    
This incident was the third time this weekend a police patrol car has been hit.
