Family escapes house fire in Milwaukie

MILWAUKIE, Ore. – A fire tore through a home in Milwaukie Saturday afternoon, leaving a mother and son homeless.
Firefighters said it’s unclear what caused the fire at the home at 2835 SE Van Water. It started at around 2 p.m.
The mother smelled smoke and ran out of the home. Firefighters said she suffered minor smoke inhalation.
Crews extinguished the fire in about 12 minutes, but said the damage to the 1,100 square foot home made it unable to live in.
The damage was estimated at $50,000.
So glad they were not injured..! Â Â Homes and belongings can be repaired or replaced; Â much harder to do with people... Â

@HarryJuku Sorry, Harry, that's not the issue here. Whether rented or owned, or mortgaged, it is a tragic loss for this family!

 @HarryJuku Wow Harry, you're a sphincter.
So sorry their home burned! Not a very nice way to start the Holidays. I sure hope they had insurance! I am glad they weren't injured in this incident! Â
