Father, son shot by same bullet
ST. HELENS, Ore. (AP) - The Columbia County sheriff's office says a father and son were wrestling over a loaded rifle when it fired, wounding both men with a single shot.
Deputies responded Thursday night to a domestic disturbance at the residence on the Nehalem Highway between Vernonia and Mist and found two wounded men. They were taken to two different Portland hospitals.
The sheriff's office says the "degree of criminal intent" in the shooting remains under investigation.

St Helens. What more needs to be said? I know someone with St Helens damage. Or maybe it was his mom who did the damage. Â Not sure. He moved out of St Helens but you can't move the St Helens out of him.Â
Either way, this was a very efficient use of ammunition.
i know those two and theres so much more that the police or anyone has let out. all i can say is alcohol, gun, and a little self-defense can be a tricky mixture...

@RalphCramden I don't think anyone was killed. Otherwise, they would not be going to two different hospitals - they would have been sent to the same morgue.

Statistics show that the most likely outcome of a gun in the house will not be that a criminal was shot in self-defense. More likely, it will be something like this. A family member is shot. I neighbor is shot. Innocent people are shot. The fact is they were not fighting over a fountain pen. This is not a story about someone getting an ink stain.  If you have a gun, you're more likely to shoot someone. Guns have one single purpose. Killing or inflicting great bodily harm. The gun did exactly what it was designed to do - it shot someone. Although in this case, we might see guns as potentially culling the herd - Darwinism in action.Â
I guess you're right. Guns are harmless and blameless and belong in every household. Right there in the liquor cabinet next to the JD.

Maybe the rifle tried to attack these two guys and they were wrestling with it not over it. Those evil guns get a mind of there own you know. Gotta be careful.
