CORBETT, Ore. – Firefighters found a body inside a Corbett home after flames erupted from the house early Tuesday morning, the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office said.

Firefighters rushed to the home on Hurlburt Road just after midnight. A neighbor saw the flames and called 9-1-1.

Crews did not find anyone inside the home during an initial search, firefighters said at the scene. A body was later found in the home, according to the sheriff's office.

Crews called a medical examiner to the scene. According to the sheriff's office, there were no signs of foul play.

Neighbors told firefighters that someone lives at the home, but their car was gone when the fire started.

It’s unclear what caused the fire. A KATU photographer at the scene said he saw small propane tanks on the property and he heard them explode in the fire.

The deputy state fire marshal is investigating the fire.
