Fire damages wood chip business in Banks

BANKS, Ore. – A fire damaged a wood chip business in Banks early Thursday morning.

Business owner Mike Kobel told KATU the fire started with an explosion in a bag house and it spread to the main building.

Four employees were there when the fire started. All of them got out safely.

Firefighters called for more resources with the second alarm. They had the fire under control by 4:45 a.m.

Kobel said the business will be out of operation for a few days.
