NORTH BEND, Ore. -- A fire destroyed a large historic hangar at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport early Tuesday morning.
Fire crews responded to a large fire at the airport in North Bend just after midnight.
The building was fully engulfed in flames by 1:00 a.m., and collapsed minutes later.
No injuries were reported.
Because of high winds in the area, firefighters said they had to keep nearby buildings wet because embers were flying across the airport towards other buildings during the fire.
Power lines were also down because of high wind and the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Fire crews from across Coos County responded.
