PORTLAND, Ore. - Smoke billowed out of a vacant home in East Portland Wednesday afternoon and traffic on nearby Interstate 205 slowed to take a look.
The fire broke out around 5:45 p.m. a house in the 9900 block of E. Burnside Street, just off I-205.
When fire crews arrived, the house was fully involved in flames. No one was injured.
According to fire officials, the house had been boarded up in an attempt to keep squatters out, although they did get reports that squatters might have found a way inside. Police at the scene also said they had been to two heroin drug overdoses at the house in the past six months.
