Flames destroy loaded snowmobile trailer

TANGENT, Ore. -- Flames completely destroyed a trailer loaded with snowmobiles late Friday night, Tangent firefighters said.
Crews were called out to the fire in Tangent at around 10 p.m. Friday.
After arriving on the scene, firefighters bumped the blaze to a two-alarm fire, calling for assistance from the surrounding Albany, Corvallis and Halsey fire departments.
A total of 15 firefighters worked to put out the flames that consumed the loaded snowmobile trailer and threatened a nearby shop building.
Officials estimate the total fire damage at $60,000.
With value of $60K, the trailer probably had 6 snowmobiles, each with 7-10 gallon tanks full of fuel, plus probalby had another minimum 1 or 2, 5 gallon cans of gas for each, plus a couple of cases of oil... that could be close to 100 gallons of gas. Then when they started burning, a lot of fiberglas, rubber tracks etc...it could get really hot, and second alarm was probably called to save the shop building. I used to race snowmobiles...only saw one catch fire...it burned REALLY fast and hot.Â
15 fire fighter to put out a lousy trailer fire? not when sequester rears its ugly head!
I heard there was a hot deal on snowmobiles if you were willing to go out of your way to get there.
I don't get it. Why hang around with a bunch of high snowmobiles?
Hummmm, you have to wonder if they were fully insured?
Owners, don't let your trailers travel "loaded".
You're just asking for trouble.
Flamers destroy snowmobiles....Did they have a pink dog?  Because I have suspects.
Ouch!
Oh.
