PORTLAND, Ore. – A former school teacher who was on the run from federal authorities and was captured in Mexico will be back in Portland within a week to face sentencing on federal child pornography charges, according to sources familiar with the case.

Logan Storm was found guilty on those child pornography charges in January.

Storm was brought back to the United States from Mexico last week and is now in Houston. He's being held in the federal detention center there waiting for the U.S. Marshals Service to start moving him toward Portland.

Sources tell KATU News Storm will be moved to Oklahoma City probably sometime Wednesday.

It's the headquarters for the Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation System (JPATS), the transportation arm of the U.S. Marshals Service. It uses unmarked jets and other vehicles to move federal prisoners around the country.

Created in 1995, JPATS moves 280,000 prisoners and aliens across the country and to foreign countries each year. It handles some of the most dangerous criminals so the Marshals Service will never confirm a schedule or even say whether any particular prisoner is being transferred at all.

Hours before Storm was brought back to the United States last week his attorneys were in federal court in Portland, trying to get prosecutors to tell them where Storm was being held in Mexico.

Storm's attorneys won't say yet whether they've been able to contact Storm.

Before Storm was ever convicted, federal prosecutors say his father, David Hansen, helped Storm escape to Europe. Authorities caught Storm when he came back into the country. Hansen was never charged.

Storm was supposed to stay at his father's home before he fled to Mexico. Prosecutors haven't said Hansen played any role in his son's disappearance this time.

KATU News caught up with Hansen at his home after his son was captured in Mexico. He had no comment.
