Former youth leader sentenced for putting camera in church bathroom
AUMSVILLE, Ore. - A man who put a video camera in the women's restroom at a church in Aumsville will be spending nearly four years behind bars.
Christopher Fowler, 32, was sentenced to 44 months in prison on Thursday. He will also have to register as a sex offender.
Fowler, who was once the youth leader and janitor at Bethel Baptist Church, videotaped three different people using the women's restroom there - one adult and two children under 12 years of age.
A woman using the restroom discovered the hidden camera and when police confronted Fowler, he confessed that he had put it there.
Fowler ended up pleading guilty last month to 10 counts of encouraging child sex abuse and one count of invasion of privacy.
Fowler had been employed at the church for around five to six years and was actively involved with the youth groups. He would often drive buses for outings and take photographs for the church.
What could possibly be the attraction in watching someone go to the bathroom? I would like to shove his face in it but maybe he would like that too?
Oh right. Youth leader and janitor. Who in their right mind would have this scuzzy,creepy, repulsive guy being a youth leader? Aren't churches required to have a background check.Â
 @KKStJohn I wouldn't even want him handling my garbage! But no, churches aren't required to do background checks, at least for volunteer types, it may be different if they are paid.
Thank goodness the woman found the hidden camera. I just don't get it. I'll never understand this sickness and plague. I simply do not believe that people that cross this unspeakable line can ever return to normalcy or be trusted again. I don't believe you can rehabilitate a pedophile. Prison is where he needs to be. The problem begins again when he is released. Â
That is just so predatory and deceitful.Â

Beyond the pale to do so to your trusting church community. Abuse. Assault. Assail ALL of them. Even if you weren't physically in that bathroom you feel his desire to ABUSE you - most assuredly. He wanted to ABUSE and assault each and every one of them. Children most especially.Â

Unfortunately,churches are a perfect,easy target for pets and thieves.What really gets to me is the number of pastors or youth pastors ect seem to be the culprits.Are these just "pretend Christians" who are there for the only reason of committing crimes or actual Christian ministers who are good Christians who just have some "weaknesses" aka being effed up mentally?

 @margay1 Isn't that the truth. There is no way to make sense of something so unspeakable and contrary to humanity. What these monsters take away from their victims can never be restored which is why the punishments never fits the crime. And then when they are released it just complicates the problem as they are free to restart their perverted pursuits because they'll never be rehabilitated.

 @DeaconBugg ~  I have to agree with you, DeaconBugg...  Although I decline to paint all of these voyeurs with too broad a brush, I'll bet that there is a significant percentage of them with whom this activity is part of an escalation in behavior... that is, going from merely "viewing" very private activities by unsuspecting people, to making actual physical contact with them; especially with kids.  Â
Churches, I think, would be ideal for their warped form of "entertainment", since most people would feel that churches are, by nature, safe environments, so they, in effect, "let down their guard". Â Â That would make for a VERY inviting environment for these kinds of mental misfits...Â

Well , I remember some one by the name of Bill White, aka William white, who went to a church. He started messing with girls who had developmental disabilities later it wound up in court Oh he lost his job from Kalama chemicals as well as getting kicked out of the church. this was a longtime ago, I think he served 2 years? At any rate. I do believe he learned his lesson.

 @pdxd I agree, but it also looks like this guy might be really mentally disabled. The fact that girls get their own bathroom might the only thing he knows about sex. It's still awful and disgusting, and I would have been really upset if he'd filmed me or anyone I know .... but he looks like he's playing with less than half a deck. Of course if it turns out he's a pedophile, then this sentence is way too light and I don't care how low his IQ is.

 @KKStJohn @tigress @badcat Well, provided he isn't a voyeur who is secretly watching women poo, it doesn't sound as though his fantasy violates any laws. I still don't understand it, and I think it's disgusting. But with that said, some people like to dress up in costumes, some people like whips/paddles, some like handcuffs, as long as both are consenting adults, they technically have every right to enjoy their fetish, no matter how vomit-inducing it may be. I will say this, that physician probably had that old youtube video "2 women, 1 cup" or whatever it was saved to his favorites.
