Grass fire spreads to apartment complex

ORCHARDS, Wash. - A grass fire quickly spread to an apartment building on Tuesday.
The fire happened at the Prairie View Apartments off of Northeast 99th Street in the Orchards area.
Fire crews were able to douse the flames before the blaze caused more significant damage to the apartment complex.
There is no word yet on a cause.
I am a resident who lives near the Prairie View Apartments, I have to say the trash that lives there is very disturbing allot of drugs, violence and theft have come out of that apartment complex. what used to be a honorable complex to live has become a housing for HUD housing and increase of crime. In the last year, I have called in 3 instances of troubled teens breaking into cars and houses. I would not put this past the delinquents that reside at prairie view to start this fire. In the field of question there is allot of broken bottles, garbage and cigarette butts. The fence along side of the apartment complex in riddled with graffiti. I understand that those who are less fortunate need housing however, if they can not be responsible for their teens they should go reside on the street. This HUD housing is causing our insurance rates to go up because of the influx of crime. I would not be surprised that at the end of the investigation that it was set by a cigarette or worse some kid playing with fire. I can not wait a few more years and I can move from this area.
