Photos: Glitzy, silly shoes jazz up downtown Gresham

GRESHAM, Ore. - The streets of historic downtown Gresham got some funky flare this week.
We're talking flip flops, Mary Janes, stilettos, work boots, fuzzy slippers, tennis shoes, penny loafers, wedges and more - all covered in glitter, draped with ribbons and decorated with nutty and whimsical things.
And did we mention they're all lining the streets on poles?
It's all part of a unique way to let folks know about the big Gresham Art Walk that's coming up in a few weeks. On July 21, more than 140 artists will head down to Main Street to sell their pieces.
Not only will there be plenty of original works to take a look at (and you can meet the artists in person), but there will also be live music, arts and crafts for the kids and lots more happening.
Now that you know what it's all about - here's a fun way to entertain the kids before the Art Walk. Head to Main Street in Gresham with this list of different types of shoes and have them see if they can find them on the poles.

@franksbeans wow frankie negative much? take a deep breath and try not to be such a negative nancy or debbie, it's all in good fun you know . . .
@franksbeans Never heard of it before, and I've lived in Gresham for 10 years. Your self-righteous cynicism is, no doubt, a much better asset to the community than things like press releases and news articles.
@franksbeans - That's right. Only divisive and sensationalized stories are good for viewing. Interestingly enough, you read and took the time to comment.Â
