Guilty plea in fatal Forest Grove hit and run

A guilty plea in the case of a hit and run accident that left two young girls in Forest Grove dead.

Mario Echeverria told a judge he had tried to cover-up evidence of the crime. He had been a passenger in the SUV driven by his girlfriend, Cinthya Garcia-Cisneros when she struck and killed two girls on October 20.

He admitted taking the SUV to a car wash in an effort to wash away evidence.

Garcia-Cisneros struck and killed Anna Dieter-Eckerdt, 6 and Abigail Robinson, 11 as they played in a pile of leaves.

While they felt a bump, they kept going.

Echeverria was sentenced to 13 months in prison. Garcia-Cisneros is scheduled to go on trial in January.
