Gunman robs Clackamas hotel early Friday morning

CLACKAMAS, Ore. -- Police said a black man robbed a Clackamas hotel early Friday morning.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies said at 12:54 a.m., a lone gunman came into the Days Inn in the 9000 block of Southeast Sunnyside Road in Clackamas and demanded money from a hotel employee while armed with a gun. The victim told police he pointed the gun at the clerk.

Moments after the robbery, the man fled the scene in a white, newer compact car, witnesses told police. Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies converged on the scene moments later and searched for the man, but were ultimately unable to find him.

The robbery suspect is described as:

  • African American male adult
  • 20-25 years of age
  • 6 feet tall
  • Medium build

The man was wearing a black hoody with a colorful emblem on the back.
