OREGON CITY, Ore. – Someone damaged as many as 12 historic headstones at an Oregon City cemetery over the weekend.

Sgt. Matthew Paschall with Oregon City police said someone walking in the Mt. View Cemetery on Sunday afternoon called police after she noticed 10 to 12 headstones had been knocked over.

Some of the headstones are from the 1800s.

Paschall said the damage estimate is more than $10,000. The vandalism occurred sometime between Friday and Sunday afternoon.

The Oregon City Parks Department is offering a $500 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.
