Homeowner chases suspects after interrupting burglary, police say

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police officers arrested two men who they said broke into a Portland man’s home and crashed a vehicle while homeowner chased them.

It happened near SE 116th Avenue and Lincoln Street around 6:20 p.m. Monday, according to police.

The homeowner returned home during the burglary and tried to block the suspects in his driveway, police said. The suspects got away in a vehicle, but the homeowner followed them.

Police said the suspects crashed the vehicle and ran away from the scene on foot, but officers were able to track the suspects down based on the vehicle information.

Police arrested Mark I. Keith, 30, and Benjamin T. Hicks, 33, and took them to the Multnomah County Jail. The two men are scheduled to face burglary charges in court Tuesday afternoon.
