Homeowner, pets escape mobile home fire

BORING, Ore. – A man and three pets escaped a fire at a mobile home in Boring early Monday morning.

The fire started just after 5:30 a.m. at a home in the 32000 block of Compton Road, firefighters said.

The homeowner woke up to the sound of his smoke alarm and got out of the house. Firefighters said the man was taken to a hospital with cuts on his hands and feet.

Two dogs and a cat also escaped the fire, but they have not been found.

It’s unclear what caused the fire.
