Power goes out after Jeep hits power pole in Beaverton

BEAVERTON, Ore. – Hundreds of people lost power after an SUV crashed into a power pole in Beaverton Monday afternoon.
The crash happened near the intersection of Southwest Tucker Avenue and 9th Street just before 1 p.m., police said.
A Jeep Cherokee veered off the road and hit the pole, shearing it in half. The driver and a passenger were not seriously hurt, according to police.
PGE crews are working to restore power to approximately 212 homes. Police said the power will be out for at least several hours and possible longer.
Traffic is blocked at the intersection while crews replace the power pole.
It’s unclear what caused the crash.
Was it headed to china ?
Why are you calling it a Jeep? If it were an S10 or an Explorer, would they call it a Chevy or a Ford? You see that a lot with "Jeep" products.
The jeep looks totalled. I could use some of those parts on my cherokee
Â
The Jeep only hit the power pole because of the driver!
@jpk It's a Jeep! You realize that they are the most ancient ancestors of the Service 'Droids like R2-D2 and such...that should tell you a lot... ;-)

I would say it was the Jeep.
I'd say this guy hit the Power Pole Jack pot.
Well, the Jeep's toast... so is the power pole... Â Glad the people aren't..! Â
 @margay1 Mmmm...toast! That sounds good.
With some butter and sugar and cinnamon.
Nummm!
ya that jeep really looks like it's "SHEARED"
Â
@DJ Mobius  No, good grief. It's not sheared, it's just smashed in. Who chose THAT word??
Looks like they creamed the dog's watering hydrant, too.
