Hunt on for former teacher convicted of child porn charges
BEAVERTON, Ore. – A former Stoller Middle School teacher convicted of possessing child porn is on the run for the second time.
Investigators said Logan Storm cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet overnight and left it in a park in Troutdale.
On Tuesday, he was found guilty of possessing hundreds of images of child pornography.
"We believe that this subject will re-offend, and we'd like to get him into custody as soon as possible," said Rus Burger with the U.S. Marshals Service. "We've got our entire warrant squad focusing on it. When it was brought to our attention, we immediately began working on it."
When investigators found the porn months ago, they said Storm fled to London where he hid out for nine months.
He was finally convinced to return to the United States and face the child porn charges.
Storm was initially accused of child sex abuse but those charges were dropped.
He was last seen driving a green Ford F-150 with Oregon license plate 726-CKA.
Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911.

It sounds as though the DA (and others) were concerned he might just jump on a plane and 'head home'.  Either way, legal or not, we don't need to import kiddie porn perverts -- I think our domestic quota for those types is already filled. The judge needs to do the honorable thing and retire.  This should have been a no-brainer call. He'd already fled before.
I am lost, slow perhapse. But since when is a possesion of children porno pictures a crime? If he did not not make the pictures, abused the children by himself, than he is just a sick man, not fit for a teacher at all but, in fact , as the story is, he didn't cause any harm to anyone . Disgusting all the way but, unless there is more ...why the manhunt?
 @faith Most "porno" pictures are adults with children, doing very evil things to the kids. The crime? Child molestation seems to top the endless list to the sicko people who derive satisfaction from such a horrible "hobby". Having them in their possession constitutes the "accessory after the fact". Doesn't matter if the guy took them or not - he was contributing to the child's horrific sense of safety violations.Â
And don't stick up for the guy or the "lack of crime". Makes you look like you like the same type of thing.Â

Child pornography is a crime at both state and federal level. It has been since the SCOTUS decided in 1973 and again in 1983 that it is not protected speech and laws protecting children is legal and enforceable.

If you had kids and lived in Troutdale, would you feel comfortable knowing that there's a sick man on the loose?

@faith If people did not watch it, there would not be a market for it. Unfortunately there is a huge market for it world wide, so children are kidnaped daily and sold into sex-slavery. Some as young as 4 yo. The people that watch and download child porn are guilty of enabling and feeding the industry.

KATU forgot to mention the judge released him awaiting sentencing over the objection of the DA because he had already proven to be a flight risk. Will there be any consequences for this judge's very poor judgement? Probably not. I'd say paying the cost of recapturing him would be a good start.

not acceptable.. If he gets his hands on a child I think the judge should be charged as well..
 @ormom Actually this case is good because it highlights the inefficiency of the police to get to a criminal once they've removed the bracelet.
 @ormom Not to say the police are to blame, just that the program doesn't work as it is supposed to. Maybe they need to look at the parameters of he program and see how it can be adjusted.

I am a former student of him. As a teacher he is was the best one I had and it came as a huge shock for those of us who respected the man. It is a shame.

Wished I could say that it would be justifiable to shoot him if found, but, no, not justifiable. Hope he's found and faces the stiffest available punishments.
