'I walked up to the window and there was a Jeep on my porch'
PORTLAND, Ore. - A man ended up in some serious hot water after police say he crashed his Jeep into a car and a house, and then fled on foot.
The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Northeast 65th Avenue and Fremont Street.
According to police, a Jeep Cherokee was heading southbound on 65th when the driver ran a stop sign and hit a Volvo. The Volvo spun out and the Jeep ended up crashing into a house. The home's porch and roof supports were badly damaged.
"I thought that I heard an earthquake," said Kjirstin Wodtli, who lives in the house that was hit. "I thought I felt and heard an earthquake and I walked up to the window and there was a Jeep on my porch."
The driver of the Jeep took off from the scene and neighbors tried to get him to stop.
"I saw him on the corner and I saw people yelling 'don't run, don't run,' but he took off," the driver of the Volvo said.
Police tracked down the driver three blocks away. He was hiding in a tree and was taken into custody without incident. Police say he had crack cocaine in his possession.
The suspect, 34-year-old Aaron Keys Jr., is now facing charges of delivery of cocaine, possession of cocaine, reckless driving, failure to perform the duties of a driver and second-degree criminal mischief.
That's some hard looking 34 years of life right there. Here's hoping that we won't see him out on the streets anytime soon, or behind the wheel.
Also charged with parole violation. Shocking.
He's 34 years old? His picture makes him look older than that. Well, Aaron, one question...Was it worth it?

Hopefully the driver of the volvo is ok. That can be a scary whiplash.Â
Cocaine, huh? As Gomer Pyle would say, "Surprise, Surprise!"
What happened to charge of operating a motor vehicle while impaired? (DUII)
@Gravity Works! Well......I don't believe the story said anything about him being under the influence. Just because he had drugs in his possession, doesn't mean he was under the influence of them at the time.
(humor on) I told santa I wanted a beemer or an audi on my porch with the red ribbon around it.(humor off)Â
I would be surprised too if I found a tweaker jeep crashed into my porch. I hope the homeowner has some good insurance, because you know that crackhead don't have any.
