PORTLAND, Ore. – Some wet roads iced up overnight when the temperature dropped below freezing, causing many side streets and sidewalks to become slick.
School districts throughout the region announced delays and bus route changes.
The freeways were in good shape, KATU's Michael Convery said.
KATU’s Valerie Hurst reported slick conditions anywhere off the main roads.
The ice is expected to melt off later in the morning. Thursday’s high temperature should be around 40 degrees, KATU Meteorologist Rhonda Shelby said.
The Oregon Department of Transportation said drivers should pay attention to the sides of roads for frost because some ice may be hard to see on the roads.
