'It's incredible for a mother to hear all those wonderful things'

SEATTLE -- The mother of a sailor from Des Moines, Wash. who was killed last week in Afghanistan said her son's dream was to be in the Navy.
"He knew probably his entire life that he wanted to be in the military," Fran Carson said.
Petty Officer 1st Class Sean P. Carson enlisted in 1999 and was assigned to an explosive ordnance disposal unit.
Fran Carson said her son worried about her worrying when he was deployed, so he didn't tell her the details of what he did each day.
"I've found out so many wonderful things about my son the last three days," she said. "It's incredible for a mother to hear all those wonderful things. How brave he was. They said he was a warrior."
Sean Carson was one of seven Americans killed when a U.S. military helicopter crashed Aug. 16 during a firefight with insurgents in a remote area of southern Afghanistan.
Fran Carson said her son had a great sense of humor and always had a smile when he came home to visit while he was on leave.
"He was a wonderful son," Fran Carson said. "He was a wonderful father to his daughter."

Condolences to the family and friends of another HERO lost in war. He's in the loving arms of the LORD and I pray God will give you all strength to deal with his passing. My prayers are with you.
To the family of Petty Officer 1st Class Sean P. Carson...I would like to commend you through this difficult time. Words could never ease the pain of loosing someone so dear and loved. I am so sorry for your lose, but he is truly a hero...to me, to my children, and to future generations. Best regards to you and your family!
May he rest in peace. And may his loving family continue to dwell in the joy that are feeling from hearing the brave tales of their precious son/father. . . Â
@portlandborn83 this is not your venue to spew your feelings about what we should/shouldnt do.  How dare you disrespect this article and this man's life by posting your dribble.  Its sad that this young man is gone.  It doesnt need to be sadder because YOU feel we should not be there.
It saddens me so much to see such a brave and upstanding young man gone too soon. Love and prayers to the family. There is nothing more heart wrenching than losing a child. My heart goes out to you. I hope you feel his love shining down on you until you are reunited once again.

End the war...the afghani's do not want us there! We've been there for 10 years and its only getting worse...
@portlandborn83 What does your comment have to do with this story? ummm NOTHING?? So I would suggest that you look around at all of those little and big freedoms you take for granted on a daily basis, give some thanks to this poor family who has had to bury a young man. It doesn't matter here what your political views are...find a different story. But there should be some thanks and honor, in your comment....because you get to wake up every morning alive and free, while one of the hundred of thousands who have fought for this country in a war you may or may not agree with just took his last breath and a child left behind who will never be able to honor him for the rest of her life! gesh!!!!
