It's that time of year: Giant Christmas tree arrives in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. - You know Christmas is getting near when the big tree arrives at Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland.
This year's Christmas tree, donated by the Stimson Lumber Company, was delivered on Friday, along with a lot of fanfare.
Now that the tree is at the square, it'll take about a week to re-attach branches and tree limbs. When that is done, more than 14,000 multi-colored LED lights will be strung around the tree.
A tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for the day after Thanksgiving (Friday, Nov. 23) at 5:30 p.m. This year's event will feature a holiday sing-a-long.
I'am shocked as they called it a Christmas tree and not holiday tree for headlines.
Crap, how much did that cost us taxpayers? Wait a second, I forgot that Christmas came almost two months early with the re-election and all the thousands that are being laid off because of Obamanomics all across this failed U.S.
@boned oh, not to mention that only a little more than a hundred have been laid off in direct reaction to Obama's re-election, and even then, they ultimately are being laid off due to increased restrictions posed on the coal industry by 2016 that were signed by president NIXON and re-signed by George W. Bush...NOT OBAMA...
@boned I can't stand ignorant people who don't read the full article and try to make a political issue out of nothing...it was DONATED idiot...
