PORTLAND, Ore. – Apparently the Portland Police Bureau was on a "Star Wars" binge over the weekend.

That's because they have dubbed a man suspected of a Monday morning armed robbery at a Wells Fargo bank in Southeast Portland, "Jabba the Robber," after the infamous slug-like villain, Jabba the Hutt, in the "Star Wars" movies.

Police say detectives gave the suspect that nickname because of the man's size and dark clothing.

Police say "Jabba" robbed the Wells Fargo at 4515 Southeast Woodstock Boulevard with a handgun just before 11 a.m. He walked away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect, perhaps also resembling another Star Wars villain, Darth Vader, is described as a white man in his 30s, 6 feet 2 inches tall, stocky build, dark eyes, pale skin, and wearing all dark clothes.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Detective Brett Hawkinson at (503) 823-1080 or brett.hawkinson@portlandoregon.gov
