Jefferson High goes into lockdown while police search for robber
PORTLAND, Ore. - A local high school was in lockdown for a short time Tuesday afternoon while police searched for a robbery suspect who may have been armed.

The high school was locked down while officers searched the area. They were unable to locate the suspect and he remains at large. Anyone with information that can help track the man down is asked to call police.

Editorial note: A previous version of this story stated that a man had knocked on the door of a home in the area, implied he had a weapon and robbed the homeowner. Police have since corrected that information and now say that the man who knocked on the door of the home was asking for help, saying he had just been robbed nearby.
What's the use in having a lockdown at the school, when a 40-50 year-old black male committed a possibly "armed" robbery near the school. Did anyone think he was a student?
@jpk Lockdown is common in a police state.
May you never experience a police state! Although every other comment from you is police state, you have no idea what the description is, dummy!
How could the previous version of the story be so different from the current version? Makes you wonder if the reporter just makes this stuff up as they go along.
