Man, 21, dies in head-on crash near Woodburn
WOODBURN, Ore. – One man died and three people were injured in a crash on Highway 99E south of Woodburn Friday night.
Marcos Ramos-DeJesus, 21, was driving Honda Accord northbound on the highway when the car crossed the center line and hit a Jeep Liberty head-on at around 10:30 p.m., according to State Police Sgt. Craig Ball.
DeJesus died at the scene.
Two passengers in the Accord were seriously injured in the crash, Ball said. Cornelio Francisco Martinez, 21, was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to OHSU in Portland. Victor Rojas-Marcelino was taken by ambulance to a Salem hospital. Both men are from Newberg.
The driver of the Jeep Liberty, 23-year-old Alma Berber of Woodburn, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
It’s unclear what caused the Accord to cross into the southbound lane.
The highway was closed for over 4 hours.

I don't think it was a head on crash, but a T-bone, and that Honda must have been near sideways. The Honda driver lost it big time.

@Nobody 3 males period who unexplainably lose control and cross the centerline make one think alcohol related.... Hispanics in this part of north marion county have been having a real issue of late of hit-and-run and DUII related crashes...One other accident on same road in less than 24 hours had a yound male hispanic caused an accident and was cited with a DUII. Statistics and history dont lie, as much as PC liberals want to tell themselves otherwise.

As for the helicopter, are you saying the money we pay in taxes for these things should not be used? If you are seriously injured do you want them to hold the helicopter for the five hours it will take to verify that you ARE a citizen?

In short, there already IS an effective and efficient way to know such thing. Â Use of the E-Verify system is presently limited to job applications and a few benefit screening situations (ie. intentionally 'underutilized' -- as to purposefully lessen it's potential at doing exactly what it was designed to). Â ... Chalk it up to 'politics'.

Also, consider that the driver was apparently at fault in causing this collision (noting the difference between a truly unpreventable collision -- 'accident', and a preventable one..) I wonder if the driver a). had insurance, b). owned the vehicle he was driving, c). had a valid license, d). (etc).

In looking at the story, it does not tell the status of the deceased. He may or may not have been an illegal alien.
Legal citizens also drive drunk. The "helicopter" was flown for an injured person, no matter what their status is or was.
Vote on closing the southern border...someday it might get closed.
