Man, 25, hit by van while trying to cross I-84
THE DALLES, Ore. – A man who was trying to cross Interstate 84 in The Dalles was seriously injured when he was hit by a van Friday night, police said.
Joren Judah Harwood, 25, of The Dalles, was trying to cross the freeway on foot when he was hit by the van. He was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to OHSU in Portland with serious injuries, police said.
Two adults and three children were inside the van during the crash. None was injured, but the van was heavily damaged, according to police.

It is not a good idea at any time to try to cross an interstate on foot. I hope he gets well. I feel sorry for the occupants of the van also, as they did nothing wrong at all.
I have seen people cross interstates successfully, but only when cars are a long long way off. Crossing the Autobahn is the same...
There might have been someone or something chasing him scarier than vehicles traveling at high speed. I can't judge if he was stupid or not. Suicide via proxy may have been the story too.

I feel sorry for the people in the van, It is a traumatic thing for the children to have to go through. I feel sorry for the stupid guy that got hit, too.

@Mikey Sorry, but there are times when I respond in a "sick, perverted, and twisted way". Humor is one way to not always be depressed about things that happen no matter what we really want to say to the story or the victims it reports on. I respond to what the media "allows" us to read about! I can play their game also, since they apparently delight in bringing us only issues that incite response of any kind. Sometime I really can be serious. Really!
